Who gets whose Mails?
Working on a tip off, we discovered that there are some interesting observations about a few batch mailing lists.
Observation 1:
For one, there has been some time since all mails sent to UG2 are landing into the mailboxes of UG1-CSE studs as well. This is because UG2's mailing list contains an entry for ug1_cse. Common sense dictates that it might have been an honest mistake. Apparently this matter has already been reported to the sysadmins, but the fact that the error still exists indicates that the reporting has gone like water on a duck's back.
Observation 2:
UG1 and UG2 beware. All mails sent to your batch's mailing list lands into Prof Kamal's mailbox as well. Someone indeed is watching what the freshers and sophomores are up to.

If observation2 is true, its bad really bad. Personal email ids for each batch are for their privacy. Students have their own internal issues, solution of which they have to find themselves. This is total loss of democracy...
Democracy? sry I forgot we live in an autocracy. You sometimes being an Indian side of myself dominates over being an IIITian.

may be u don't believe in privacy and rights,but we do.
Though its harmless act on part of the faculty but its totally unnecessary and is goin to be interpretted in a negative way.
ug2 mailing list is meant exculsivly for ug2 batch and none other, not even faculty. It's an act of breaching the privacy of ug2.

it used to be in ug2 a few hrs ago,
but it has been removed from that file

why o' why!!
every year, the freshers aka ug1 ppl send all kinds of spam to their lists .. maybe the dean and appaji werent satisfied with the spam that comes in from outside and wanted more??
nothing new, mitra has a students account...abi_chem@students.iiit.ac.in...never really understand why the faculty is so keen to be counted amongst the students...not only do we have a autocracy, we have the entire works too...gestapo,spies...
may be the faculty's also interested in those tullu mails...and more of galimama's
time's ripe to send a tullu mail from camel's id:D
appaji and his girl friend prabha has been seperated so this could be the reason that he is on first year's list. Baccho apni behno ko appaji se bacha kar rakhna.
